Pre-Conference Committee/Council Meetings
During the first half of Home Building Week in Canada, CHBA's National Committee and Councils meet. The pre-conference meetings are a great opportunity to learn about and participate in the business of the association on a national scale. You'll meet others from across the country and engage in discussions on building codes, energy efficiency and net zero homes, urban development, renovation, modular construction, women in residential construction, and more, and you'll be able to apply that information to your business and your local association back home.
Pre-Conference Meetings (CHBA Members, Committee/Council Members and HBA Staff)
- The Pre-conference association committee and council meetings are free for CHBA members, anyone with a position on a CHBA Committee/Council, and HBA staff.
Pre-Conference Meetings (Non-Members)
- If you are not a member of CHBA and do not have a position on a CHBA Committee/Council, but are interested in attending the pre-conference meetings, please contact communications@chba.ca. A modest daily rate will apply.
Conference
The second half of the week is conference programming, focused on connection, inspiration, and FUN. You'll have plenty of time to meet and mingle with your industry peers while taking in informative speakers and having a blast during the evening events. Attendees will head home with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and fresh contacts for your business.
Conference (CHBA Members & HBA Staff)
- Full access to networking functions, meals, and evening events from Tuesday evening through Thursday.
Conference (Non-Members)
- Full access to networking functions, meals, and evening events from Tuesday evening through Thursday.
Optional Add-On Excursions (Wednesday afternoon)
Those attending the conference (second half of the week) or their guests have the option of purchasing an excursion ticket for Wednesday afternoon. CHBA has organized two different excursions for you to continue networking while experiencing some of what Victoria has to offer!
Butchart Gardens / Victoria Highlights Tour
- Enjoy a 3.5 hour feast for your senses on this fully narrated tour of the beautiful Beacon Hill Park before embarking on a 2-hour self-guided tour of the enchanting Butchart Gardens.
Whale Watching Tour
- Embark on a 3-hour whale-watching adventure aboard the Orca Spirit II, departing from Victoria's Inner Harbour.
Individual Event Tickets
Bringing a guest who only wants to attend the evening events? Coming for pre-conference meetings but want to join the Tuesday evening event? Or coming in just for the housing awards gala? While you’re encourage to attend all of Home Building Week, you do also have the option to purchase individual tickets.
Tuesday Evening Welcome Reception
- In the spirit of Victoria’s relaxed and friendly pub culture, this casual meet-and-greet event is the perfect opportunity to connect with industry peers in a welcoming and laid-back social atmosphere. Enjoy a menu featuring classic pub foods, paired with local craft beers and wines. The fun doesn’t stop there—challenge your colleagues to a game of pool, darts, foosball, or air hockey while sharing laughs and making new connections. It’s the ideal start to a week filled with inspiration, collaboration, and great conversations!
Wednesday Housing Night: Sumo Edition
- Get ready for an unforgettable night, where the Far East meets “Out West.” Take part in inflatable sumo wrestling, challenge your friends on a velcro wall, and learn the art of origami. Unleash your inner star with silent karaoke, snap selfies with iconic characters like Pikachu, Super Mario, and Hello Kitty, or test your skills with giant Jenga. Plus, you’ll have the chance to revisit “old-school” arcade favourites and even create your own anime characters! Indulge in a delicious menu of Asian street food, groove to a live band, and enjoy an evening of fun, interactivity, and entertainment. It’s a night you won’t want to miss! Dress casual with Samurai flair!
Thursday Glitter & Groove Awards Bash
- Home Building Week is going out with a bang during this lux and reimagined soiree where we've ditched the assigned seating in favour of an upscale club vibe. Circulate and socialize with friends and business contacts (who are likely also friends now after you both crushed Housing Night!) while enjoying passed plates, food stations, and energetic beats that will have the dance floor calling your name. Raise your glasses to the guests of honour and congratulate the incredible finalists of the CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence, whooping it up for them as winners are announced amid all the fun. This grand finale event goes until 1am, so wear your finest and get ready to close the place down! Note: A $100 discount will be available to finalists.

Payments by Visa, MasterCard, and AMEX are accepted.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Full event registrations or ticket purchases are refundable until April 30, 2024 @ 11:59 ET. Cancellations made after April 30, 2024 are not refundable. Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the cancellation date. No purchase orders are accepted. All refunds will be issued back in the original payment type. Only those attendees who have completed registration and have paid in full will be allowed to join CHBA Home Building Week in Canada.
Substitution Policy
Rather than make a substitution, please have the existing person cancel their registration online and the new person register. This can be done until April 30. Substitutions after April 30, 2024 will be accepted only if a company letter authorizing the substitution is presented onsite at the event. For security reasons, badge swapping is not permitted.
Privacy Policy
By registering for CHBA Housing Week in Canada you are providing permission to receive emails and mailings related to the event. The event organizer shall not be liable for (and shall be entitled to use) any photos taken of participants or event proceedings for promotional purposes.
Limitation of Liability
The event organizer reserves the right to amend this program, make speaker changes and cancel this event. If the event is cancelled, the organizer shall refund all registration fees paid, but shall not be liable for airfare or other costs incurred by delegates.
